Lesson 1: Chat conversations assist with sales

Chat conversations assist with sales in many ways. They help to:

They help to:

Improve Engagement

People love to buy what other people are buying. On Facebook, this means that posts with lots of likes, comments, and shares are likely to do well.

People who have Messenger conversations are much more likely to like, comment and share. So having chat agents initiating chats helps to boost engagement, which attracts more people.

Increase Reach on Facebook

Facebook advertising is expensive, so companies want to get the most bang for their buck. Because sales chats raise engagement levels, they also increase advertising reach. This means that more people see each ad. And that, in turn, means more opportunities for sales.

Make a Human Connection

Having a one-on-one conversation with someone over Messenger improves the relationship with the company. There’s an opportunity to discuss the prospect’s:

Desires: what are they looking for, and how can the company’s products meet their needs?
Needs: what are the ‘must haves’ that are non-negotiable?
Objections: what might stop them from pulling the trigger and purchasing?

All of this leads to a greater likelihood of making a sale.

Make the Prospect Comfortable

Facebook Messenger is an app that most people regularly use to chat with friends, family, and colleagues. So the prospect is likely to be familiar with how it works.

This makes a Messenger chat less daunting than a live chat using the company’s software. It’s also less of a commitment than a phone call. You will find that people are relaxed on Messenger conversations.

They will feel as if they are chatting to a friend rather than a salesperson. So they are more likely to give you the information you need to progress the sale. And anything that helps you get more sales is a good thing!

Improve Outreach

With Facebook Messenger, you don’t have to wait for prospects to come to you. Instead, you can go out and find them!

Finding new sales prospects is as easy as scrolling through the group chat and seeing who you haven’t spoken to yet. With new members joining every day, you will always have lots of people to talk to.

Increased Referrals

Every business knows that referrals are a great way to generate more sales. When you close a deal over Messenger, you are in a great position to get a referral.

Ask your customer which friends, colleagues, or family members might also be interested in the product. Then ask them to create a Messenger group chat that includes you, the customer, and their friend.

You will have a new prospect to connect with. And thanks to your customer’s recommendation, you will already be halfway towards a sale!
